Job summary

Connex Education is seeking Supply Teachers to work across primary schools in Derby city centre and surrounding DE1 area. Roles include day-to-day cover, short-term and longer placements across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Deliver planned lessons, maintain a positive classroom and ensure high-quality teaching when the regular teacher is absent. Opportunities suit both experienced teachers and ECTs, with flexible full-time or part-time options and weekly PAYE pay.

Qualifications

• QTS and UK primary teaching experience required.
• Enhanced DBS and right to work in the UK expected.
• Experience delivering lessons across EYFS–KS2 preferred.

About the Role

Connex Education is currently recruiting Supply Teachers to work across primary schools in Derby city centre and the wider DE1 area.

The new academic year is now underway, and local schools are continuing to require reliable teachers for day-to-day cover, short-term assignments and longer-term placements.

Whether you’re looking for regular work throughout the week or greater flexibility around your availability, we have opportunities across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver planned lessons, maintain a positive classroom environment and ensure pupils continue to receive high-quality teaching in the absence of their usual class teacher.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Person Specification

We’re looking for candidates who have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Recent experience teaching within a UK primary school or completing a UK teacher training placement.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Confidence teaching across different year groups and adapting to new environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, reliable approach.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.

All roles are subject to satisfactory background checks, including an Enhanced DBS.
