Job summary

Connex Education is seeking qualified Primary Teachers for day-to-day supply and long-term positions across Sheffield. You’ll match opportunities to your year-group preferences and career goals, with September 2026 starts available and a focus on flexible teaching arrangements.

We partner with Sheffield schools offering EYFS to KS2 placements, with day-to-day planning not always required and opportunities to develop your classroom practice in supportive environments.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Recent experience as lead classroom teacher in a UK primary school.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Good knowledge of the National Curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive and well-structured lessons.
  • Establish a positive, stimulating and supportive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and support pupil progress, attainment and development.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents/carers.
  • Complete planning, preparation and assessment for placements.

The Role

As a Primary Teacher, you’ll be responsible for creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences that encourage pupils to achieve their potential both academically and personally.

Depending on your assignment, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive and well-structured lessons
  • Establish a positive, stimulating and supportive classroom environment
  • Monitor and support pupil progress, attainment and development
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents/carers
  • Complete planning, preparation and assessment for long-term placements
  • Contribute to the wider life and activities of the school where appropriate

For most day-to-day supply assignments, lesson planning is not required, allowing you to concentrate on delivering high-quality teaching and providing continuity for pupils.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Recent experience teaching as the lead classroom teacher within a UK primary school
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Good knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • A commitment to supporting pupil achievement and wellbeing
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
