Job summary

Storal Sparsholt Outdoor Nursery School (part of Storal Learning Ltd.) in Winchester is seeking Casual - Bank Nursery Educators. The role offers flexible shifts with morning, afternoon, or full-day cover.

Pay is up to £14.21 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with EYFS-based activities and a nurturing environment. You will support children under 5, work within the EYFS framework, and align with Storal's values of responsibility, openness and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification in early years.
• Experience as an Early Years Educator or with children under 5 is advantageous.
• Knowledge of EYFS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support with cover for children during holidays, sickness, or vacancies.
• Deliver sessions as full days, mornings or afternoons with flexible shifts.
• Follow EYFS standards while bringing creativity and engaging activities.
• Foster curiosity and learning in young children and adapt plans as needed.

How You’ll Spend Your Time Here

You’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps. Sometimes you'll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session. You'll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan.... That will soon get completely derailed though... Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care! Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn't stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.

You’re a Level 2 or above qualified, Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar and you're looking for an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments.

You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations.

You have a natural, nurturing, openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.

(We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, so if you can demonstrate the necessary values and enthusiasm for working within this environment).

What You’ll Need

• Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5, is advantageous
• Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable
