Job summary

Storal Learning Ltd. is seeking an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse to cover shifts on a casual/bank basis at Kingswood Early Years Nursery, Mitcham.

You may work full days or individual sessions, responding with flexibility to holiday, sickness or vacancy gaps while delivering EYFS-aligned activities. The role welcomes Level 2+ qualified candidates, with experience with under-5s and a willingness to adapt plans as needed.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 2+ qualification in early years; unqualified considered if qualities shown.
• Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) with under-5 experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of the EYFS desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for children as needed (holiday, sickness, vacancy).

How you’ll spend your time here

You’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps. Sometimes you'll support for a full day, or it may just be an morning or afternoon session. You'll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan.... That will soon get completely derailed though... Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care!

Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn't stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.

You’re a Level 2 or above qualified, Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar and you're looking for an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments.

You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations.

You have a natural, nurturing, openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.

(We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, so if you can demonstrate the necessary values and enthusiasm for working within this environment.)

What you'll need

• A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years. (We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values and enthusiasm for working within this environment.

• Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5, is advantageous.

• Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.
