Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom is seeking a logistics professional to manage overseas purchase orders, coordinate with vendors and freight forwarders, and ensure timely shipment and customs compliance. You will oversee cost-effective dispatch, liaise on timelines, and maintain clear records in SAP.

You will collate KPIs, build strong internal and external relationships, and support exports and returns while optimising transport costs and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in shipping, distribution, procurement or supply chain environments.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of import and export operations.
• Knowledge of freight modes, transport costs, tariffs and customs procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and at pace.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Confidence building effective working relationships with vendors, forwarders and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide full visibility of overseas purchase orders.
• Ensure internal stakeholders understand order status, progress and delivery risks.
• Liaise with vendors, freight forwarders and internal teams to establish critical timelines and confirm origin points.
• Support timely and cost-effective shipment dispatch.
• Oversee shipment approvals, customs clearance instructions and delivery scheduling.
• Resolve operational issues and ensure goods move efficiently into the distribution centre.
• Support return to vendor and export activity.
• Communicate shipping arrangements and advise on transport costs.
• Coordinate collections with warehouses and freight partners.
• Collate, monitor and communicate operational KPIs.
• Maintain accurate records across relevant systems including SAP.
