Job summary

The National in Belfast city centre is seeking an experienced supervisor to join our vibrant bar team. This full-time role offers £14.30 per hour plus a discretionary bonus scheme and requires day, evening and weekend availability.

You will oversee both bar and waiting staff, lead by example, and help drive revenue through strong leadership, excellent service, and proactive stock and cash handling. A passion for nightlife and customer satisfaction is essential.

Responsibilities

Supervisor - The National

We're on the lookout for an experienced, hands-on supervisor to join our energetic team at one of the city centre's busiest and most vibrant bar/nightclubs. The successful candidate will have demonstrated previous supervisory experience (preferably at least 2 years) in a similar busy City Centre Bar/Restaurant environment, be able to lead and motivate a team, are customer focused and target driven. They will have experience supervising both bar and waiting staff and be able to implement initiatives to increase revenue. Ideally the successful candidate will also have a working knowledge of food and drink stocktakes.

• Support the rest of the management team with day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service during peak hours

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in a similar supervisory role in a similar busy venue (1 year minimum)
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle busy periods.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
• Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the business.
• Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
• A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer experiences.
