Job summary

Beannchor Group's The Meeting House in Belfast City Centre is seeking a Bar Supervisor to help open and run the new venue. You will lead the bar team, supervise shifts and ensure first-class guest service.

The role pays £14.30 per hour with a discretionary annual bonus up to £500, and offers holiday entitlement, wellbeing initiatives, and staff discounts. Evening and weekend work required.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in a busy pub or bar environment.
• Ability to establish high standards in a new venue.
• People-oriented, with strong relationship-building skills.
• Confident shift leader and clear communicator with good organisation.
• Good knowledge of bar operations, customer service and responsible alcohol service.

Bar Supervisor – The Meeting House

Opening this Autumn, The Meeting House will be a welcome addition to Belfast City centre. Located between Ann Street and Crown Entry, the venue will be a pub with a focus on traditional Irish music and its unique historical location. The pub will also be complemented by an adjoining Indian-inspired 60 seat restaurant, 'Ru'. We are looking for an experienced Bar Supervisor to support the management team and help bring the bar to life.

The role

This is a key supervisory position supporting the successful day-to-day operation of The Meeting House bar.

As Bar Supervisor, you will lead by example on shift, support the bar team, maintain high service standards and help deliver an outstanding guest experience.

The rate of pay for this role is £14.30 per hour plus discretionary annual bonus opportunity of up to £500.

What you'll do:

• Support the management team with the opening and ongoing operation of The Meeting House bar

• Supervise day-to-day bar shifts, helping to ensure seamless service flow and effective team coordination

• Lead by example in delivering exceptional service, responding to customer feedback professionally and escalating issues when required

• Support the training and development of the bar team, reinforcing the venue's culture, service standards and ways of working

• Assist with shift briefings, cash handling, stock control, opening and closing procedures and completion of required checks

• Maintain excellent bar presentation and product quality while ensuring compliance with hygiene, health and safety, and licensing requirements

About you:

• Previous supervisory experience in a busy pub or other bar service environment (at least 12 months)

• Someone able to make a quick impact and help establish strong standards in a new venue

• A people person who builds positive working relationships with colleagues and guests

• A confident shift leader and communicator with strong organisational skills

• You have sound knowledge of bar operations, customer service and responsible alcohol service

• You’re enthusiastic, hands-on and comfortable supporting the team during busy services

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
