Great opportunity to work as a Supervisor for our clients leading reptile nutrition site!

Staffline is recruiting for a Supervisor to work in Mepal.

The rate of pay is:
£13.21 per hour

The shift pattern is:
Sunday to Wednesday

The shift times are:
8pm to 6am

Please note that this is subject to change to cover and meet business requirements.

Own transport to and from site is required

Training:
You must be able to complete one month of training on the day shift.
Training will be paid at £13.00 per hour
Training shifts will be Sunday to Thursday 8am to 4pm

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity!

Your Time at Work

As a supervisor, you will be involved in the operations of the Live Food Area, where the breeding, care, and dispatch of live insects takes place. Your main responsibility will be to lead and support the night team, ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. The site operates 365 days a year.

This is a hands-on role, and you will be expected to work alongside the team and provide active support throughout your shift.

Your duties may include:

Team Leadership:
- Supervising and coordinating a small team of General Operatives
- Ensuring staff follow company procedures
- Supporting team performance, morale, and productivity
- Leading shift handovers and reporting any key issues

Production Oversight:
- Monitoring breeding, care, and packaging of live insects (crickets, locusts, cockroaches)
- Ensuring production targets and quality standards are met
- Maintaining accurate records of stock, breeding activity, and output

Hygiene & Compliance:
- Enforcing hygiene, biosecurity, and health & safety protocols
- Conducting routine checks and audits
- Managing the safe disposal of waste and ensuring clean work areas

Order Fulfilment Support:
- Overseeing the picking and packing of live insect orders
- Ensuring correct quantities and quality are dispatched to customers
- Coordinating with logistics to meet dispatch deadlines

- Be able to count accurately and efficiently
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Be a strong team player
- Have previous supervisory or team-leading experience (ideally in a production, warehouse, or animal care environment)
- Be comfortable working with live insects
- Lead by example and motivate a team
- Possess strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Be reliable and punctual.

Full training will be provided, but previous experience leading a team is a strong advantage.
