Location: Respite Service, 7A Finborough Road

Team Leader, Stowmarket Short Break Service

£13.10 per hour with enhancements for Sundays and Bank Holidays and sleep-ins at £65.

Permanent full-time, 37 hours, including mornings, evenings, daytime, weekends, sleep-ins, and waking nights.

We are seeking a Team Leader skilled in mentoring, motivating, and coaching staff delivering daytime support to adults with learning disabilities. You will serve as a link between support staff and management, acting as the first point of contact for employees. Your role involves modeling, developing, and embedding positive culture and exceptional practices to ensure a consistent, efficient service for our customers.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop leadership skills by promoting and demonstrating good practice among team members.

Accountabilities
About The Role
  • Act as a role model, providing open, reassuring, positive, and constructive feedback within the team.
  • Promote care as a valued career choice and serve as a care ambassador.
  • Help drive culture change as a quality ambassador within the service.
  • Support dignity in care and uphold high standards of support.
  • Lead and support team members to perform their roles safely and effectively.
  • Assist Business Support in staffing and shift management.
  • Work shifts as part of the rota, providing advice and support out of hours.
  • Mentor new recruits during their probation period.
  • Conduct audits on finances and medication (where applicable).
  • Gather feedback from customers regarding their support.
  • Develop care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Participate in and lead team meetings.
  • Support the Service Manager in managing the workplace according to standards and legislation.
  • Create and develop new opportunities for service users within the service and community.
What You Need
  • Level 3 Award in Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills for reports and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills across various contacts.
  • Significant experience in a social care setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Experience with diversity, advocacy, person-centered approaches, and confidentiality.
  • IT literacy.
  • Approachable, dedicated, and hardworking attitude.
  • Ability to travel within Suffolk.
Your Induction

Leading Lives offers a 3-week induction program, supported by a buddy from day one. Start date will be confirmed after satisfactory DBS and recruitment checks.
