Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking a Repairs Supervisor in London to lead a team of operatives and subcontractors across social housing repairs. You will ensure safe, efficient delivery of maintenance works and uphold high quality standards on site.

The role requires a strong multi-trade background, leadership skills and a valid UK driving licence. CSCS and safety qualifications are advantageous and the position is based in a permanent, on-site capacity.

Repairs Supervisor

Permanent opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to join a leading property maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual with a strong multi-trade background and experience supervising repairs and maintenance teams.

The successful candidate will oversee a team of operatives and subcontractors, ensuring responsive repairs and maintenance works are completed safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of trade operatives and subcontractors.

• Monitor daily workloads, productivity and performance.

• Carry out site visits and inspect completed repairs to ensure quality standards are met.

• Ensure work is completed within agreed timescales and budgets.

• Liaise with planners, administrators, clients and residents to coordinate repairs effectively.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).

• Conduct toolbox talks, site inspections and risk assessments.

• Identify and manage variations, ensuring accurate job records and reporting.

• Support workforce planning and out-of-hours repairs when required.

• Mentor apprentices and encourage continuous improvement across the team.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Repairs Supervisor, Senior Operative or in a similar property maintenance role.

• Experience within social housing or responsive repairs.

• Strong technical knowledge across multiple trades.

• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance procedures.

• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.

• Confidence using Microsoft Office and mobile work management systems.

• Full UK driving licence.

A valid CSCS card and supervisory safety qualifications, such as SSSTS, SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely, would be advantageous.
