Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Freelance Civils Supervisor for a long-term civils scheme in Crook, County Durham. You will supervise day-to-day civils works, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safe, on-time delivery in line with drawings and RAMS.

The role requires strong leadership, CSCS and SSSTS credentials, and the ability to manage site teams and programmes. Immediate start for a long-term freelance engagement is available.

Qualifications

• Experience as Civils Supervisor / Foreman / Chargehand required.
• Civil engineering and groundworks experience required.
• Understanding of site operations, sequencing and construction programmes.
• SSSTS certification required at minimum.
• CSCS card required.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and site operatives.
• Proactive health & safety and quality mindset.

Linear Recruitment are currently working with an established contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Civils Supervisor on a freelance basis for a civils scheme in Crook, County Durham.

The Role

• Supervising day-to-day civils works on site.
• Coordinating subcontractors and site operatives.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the programme.
• Monitoring progress and reporting to the Site Manager/Project Manager.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and RAMS.
• Managing site activities and coordinating plant, labour and materials.
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping.
• Supporting the Site Management team with the successful delivery of the project.
• Carrying out daily briefings and ensuring site teams understand the required works and safe systems of working.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Civils Supervisor / Foreman / Chargehand.
• Strong experience within civil engineering and groundworks.
• A good understanding of site operations, sequencing and construction programmes.
• SSSTS certification as a minimum.
• Relevant CSCS card.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• The ability to confidently manage subcontractors and site operatives.
• A proactive approach to health & safety and quality.
