Job summary

Linear Recruitment are seeking a Civils Supervisor for a freelance, long-term civils project in Crook, County Durham. The role involves supervising day-to-day civils works, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring safety and programme compliance on site.

The ideal candidate holds SSSTS and CSCS, with strong leadership and a track record in groundworks. Freelance, immediate start, and long-term opportunity with an established contractor are on offer.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Civils Supervisor / Foreman / Chargehand.
• Strong civil engineering and groundworks experience.
• Understanding of site operations, sequencing and programmes.
• SSSTS certification as a minimum.
• CSCS card.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to confidently manage subcontractors and site operatives.
• Proactive approach to health & safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Supervising day-to-day civils works on site.
• Coordinating subcontractors and site operatives.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the programme.
• Monitoring progress and reporting to the Site Manager/Project Manager.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and RAMS.
• Managing site activities and coordinating plant, labour and materials.
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping.
• Supporting the Site Management team with the successful delivery of the project.
• Carrying out daily briefings and ensuring site teams understand the required works and safe systems of working.
