Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Roadside Technician to join a national breakdown service in Glasgow. This field-based role offers a base salary (£50,669) with substantial OTE potential (over £57,000, 70k+ achievable) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Expect a 40-hour week with flexible shifts, 6:00 am to 2:00 am coverage, and occasional overnights. Overtime, pension, life cover, training, and employee wellbeing support are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
