Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician for a Hampstead-based, field-based role with a national breakdown company and strong earning potential. You will work within a responsive unit, offering flexibility around schedules and hours, with overtime and bonus opportunities.

The role requires a Level 2 (ideally Level 3) vehicle maintenance qualification, 2+ years post-qualification experience, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
