Job summary

Brig o' Doon Hotel is seeking a Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen team in Ayr, Scotland. This part-time role offers 30 hours per week, with shifts from 6:00am to 12:00pm, serving residents and walk-in guests and supporting prep and service across breakfast periods.

You will contribute to high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation, working closely with a busy kitchen team. Experience in breakfast service is preferred, with a creative approach to dishes and strong teamwork skills

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen is highly beneficial.
• Experience as a Chef de Partie or Breakfast Chef is preferred.
• A creative approach to cooking, with an eye for detail.
• Experience preparing breakfast, soups, sauces, and afternoon teas.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A genuine passion for food and delivering high-quality dishes.
• The ability to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking a variety of breakfast items to established recipes and quality standards.
• Ensuring the kitchen is set up and equipped with all necessary ingredients and equipment before service begins.
• Working efficiently with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely breakfast service.
• Assisting with preparation for lunch service.
• Preparing afternoon teas.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and presentation throughout the kitchen.
