Job summary

Kier Group in Falmer, East Sussex, is offering a Summer Placement Quantity Surveyor Student to work within the Infrastructure team on Southern Water framework projects. The 8-week placement starts July 2027 with a salary of £26,208 per annum and potential to move onto the Graduate Scheme.

You'll gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to commercial and financial aspects of infrastructure projects, while supporting tendering and reporting activities alongside a project team.

Qualifications

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills written and verbal.
• Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Hold a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial resources of the project.
• Assisting in maximising gross profit for projects.
• Assessing, reviewing and mitigating commercial/contractual risks and value work by subcontractors.
• Helping prepare and submit tenders and contract documents.
• Collaborating with the project team to prepare progress reports and financial statements.
