Job summary

COWI in Derby is offering an Engineering Summer Internship 2027 (Civil/Structural) for 8 weeks, aimed at current students pursuing an engineering degree. You will join a consultancy team and learn from our engineers on day-to-day project operations.

Your key responsibilities include assisting with calculations, design checks and technical analysis; shadowing engineers during client coordination; and applying your academic knowledge to contribute to projects in infrastructure or energy markets.

Qualifications

• Completed a minimum of 2 years in Civil Engineering or a related subject (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc)
• Problem solving and creative mindset
• Demonstrable evidence of research and information gathering skills
• Interest in engineering within the Infrastructure or Energy market

Responsibilities

• Assist with calculations, design checks and technical analysis under supervision
• Shadow engineers during client coordination with contractors and other disciplines
• Apply your academic knowledge to contribute to our projects
• Gain valuable experience in a global consultancy
