Job summary

COWI in York is inviting applications for an Engineering Summer Internship 2027 (Civil/Structural) for an 8-week period in our consultancy office. You will support current projects and learn from our engineers through day-to-day operations.

Applicants should have at least 2 years in a Civil Engineering degree, a problem-solving mindset, and an interest in infrastructure or the energy market. The role offers growth, mentorship, and exposure to real-world design tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar (BEng/BSc/MEng/MSc).

To give current students a taste of a career in Engineering, we are looking for a Summer Intern to join us for 8 weeks. Working on our current projects, you'll have the opportunity to support the team and learn from our Engineers on the day-to-day operations within a consultancy office.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• To assist with calculations, design checks, and technical analysis under the guidance of senior engineers
• To shadow engineers during coordination with clients, contractors, and other disciplines
• To use your academic knowledge of the engineering fundamentals to contribute to our projects
• To gain valuable experience in a global consultancy
