Job summary

COWI is seeking a Summer Intern in Derby for 8 weeks in 2027, focusing on geotechnical and geological engineering. You will support project work, learn from engineers on day-to-day tasks, and gain hands-on experience in a global consultancy.

Responsibilities include basic calculations, ground modelling, and coordination with clients and other disciplines, while applying your academic knowledge to real projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a bachelor's or master's program in Geology, Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Evidence of research and information gathering skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic geotechnical calculations, ground modelling, and geo hazards under supervision.
• Shadow engineers during meetings with clients, contractors, or other disciplines.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to contribute to projects.
• Gain experience in a global consultancy.
