As a Substitute Teacher, you will step into classrooms when regular teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining high standards of education. You will quickly build rapport with pupils and staff while adapting to each school’s ethos and routine.

Substitute Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across primary year groups, ensuring engagement and progress.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and support their learning needs.
• Collaborate with staff and follow the school’s safeguarding and behaviour protocols.
• Provide feedback or complete marking where appropriate.

Substitute Teacher Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Recent teaching experience in UK primary schools.
• Excellent adaptability and classroom management skills.
• A positive and professional attitude to working across varied school settings.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
