Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel is seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead the construction and commissioning phase of a Substation 400kV upgrade. The role requires delivering works safely, to the required quality standards, and in line with the programme while coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and the Client's team.

You will act as the Client's on-site representative, driving safety culture, ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, NEC contracts, and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience leading construction of HV substations or large infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and safety legislation.
• Experience with NEC contracts and contractor performance management.
• HND or degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the safe delivery of construction and commissioning activities for the Substation 400kV upgrade, including earthworks, civils, buildings, earthing, switchgear installation, transformer installation, electrical installation and commissioning.
• Act as Client's primary site representative, managing contractor performance to meet safety, quality and programme requirements.
• Monitor progress, resources and KPIs; support NEC contract administration and supervise inspections, QA, defect management and reporting.
• Ensure all site activities comply with statutory requirements, planning consents, SHE, CDM Regulations and Client procedures.
• Manage QA processes, including ITPs, site inspections, defect management and commissioning readiness.
