Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson is recruiting for a transmission engineering specialist focused on high-voltage substation projects. You will prepare scopes, specifications, and requirements for AIS and GIS switchgear, transformers, and related equipment, while reviewing designs and supporting FATs.

You will manage technical queries, design changes and risk assessments. You will collaborate with Civil, Protection & Control, and Building Services teams, ensuring safety, governance and timely delivery across

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
Chartered Engineer status or progression desirable.
Experience with transmission-level primary plant engineering up to 400kV.

Responsibilities

Prepare scope of works, technical specifications and requirements for transmission substation plant equipment.
Review contractor/consultant designs during development and delivery phases.
Attend FATs and review documentation; support procurement to commissioning.
Identify technical risks and provide engineering solutions; promote best practice.
Develop relationships with project teams and stakeholders across disciplines.
