Job summary

Exchange Street Claims & Financial Services seeks an experienced Subsidence Engineer to manage subsidence claims and oversee repair projects in Birmingham. The role requires site visits, technical assessments and causation analysis to support liability determinations.

You will liaise with contractors and external suppliers, prepare ABI reports, and help guide complex settlements. MRICS/MCIOB/C.BuildE are preferred but not essential, with a focus on strong client service.

Qualifications

• Prior subsidence / Loss Adjusting experience preferable.
• MRICS / MCIOB / C.BuildE qualifications preferred but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Handle a portfolio of subsidence claims involving landslips, sinkholes/voids and intervention methods on a project managed basis.
• Attend site to carry out technical assessments and investigate claims.
• Determine causation / defect diagnosis and policy liability.
• Decline claims where appropriate.
• Determine nature and extent of damage.
• Prepare / submit full ABI reports outlining findings and recommendations.
• Oversee complex repair schemes including sub- and super-structure.
• Liaise with contractors and all external suppliers.
• Work closely with and support the Contractor Network.
• Review claims and deal with variations.
