Job summary

Exchange Street Executive Search is engaged by a client in the Birmingham area seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to handle subsidence claims across the West Midlands.

You will review client information, conduct site visits, validate policy coverage, manage repair scoping and scheduling, and oversee contractor appointments with a focus on compliance.

Degree in Building Surveying required; MRICS/C.Build.E/AMIStructE desirable; strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical / Loss Adjusting experience is desired.
• Experienced in project management and tender preparation; CDM knowledge.
• Degree in Building Surveying (BSc Hons).
• MRICS, C.Build.E or AMIStructE qualifications are desirable but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Claim Evaluation: Review information from clients and conduct site visits to validate claims.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate with policyholders to gather information and inform decisions.
• Claim Validation: Use tools to create repair schedules and validate variations per policy terms.
• Project Management: Oversee the entire claim process from damage assessment to final report submission.
• Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with company policies and Health & Safety legislation.
• Contractor Management: Appoint relevant contractors and provide clear instructions at the outset of the claim.
