Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby is seeking a Software/Hardware Integration Engineer to support the Dreadnought programme. You will integrate software, FPGA and hardware, and contribute to verification and validation of complex subsystems on a demanding platform.

You will develop test documentation and automated FPGA tests, perform failure investigations, and ensure traceability to design requirements, with close liaison across software, hardware and safety teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software or Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Experience with field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA).
• Experience in integrating complex electronic products and fault finding/diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Develop test documentation including test plans, procedures and reports.
• Develop test equipment solutions and conduct LRU testing across functional and environmental tests.
• Develop automated testing procedures for FPGA designs and verify against DOORS requirements.
• Conduct failure investigations and root cause analysis with structured problem-solving techniques.
• Ensure changes are controlled and traceable to design requirements per established processes.
• Support audits, product design reviews and verification activities and liaise with software, systems, hardware, FPGA and safety teams.
