Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby is seeking an Electronic Engineer to join the In Service Electrical Department. You will review high-level electrical requirements, translate them into validated designs and develop electrical solutions to meet stringent standards.

The role involves analysis, modelling, capacity planning support and creating training materials for the team. This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to Reactor Control, Power Systems and Plant Sensors

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical design, system integration and architecture.
  • Ability to research issues and source information from outside the area (suppliers, universities, customers).
  • Ability to train colleagues and develop training materials where needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review and confirm high level electrical requirements and testability.
  • Translate requirements into validated electrical component designs.
  • Design and implement electrical designs to meet requirements and standards.
  • Analyse designs for functional behaviour using modelling and simulation.
  • Support capacity planning and long-term goals for the department.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines, tools and training.
