Rolls-Royce Derby invites an Electronics Engineer to join the In-Service Electrical – Submarines team. The role focuses on reviewing high level electrical requirements, translating them into validated designs, and delivering electrical components that meet stringent standards.

The engineer will model and simulate to verify behaviour and support long-term strategic goals, with responsibilities to develop and maintain procedures and training materials.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical design, system architecture and interfaces.
  • Ability to research application issues and external information.
  • Capability to seek solutions from outside immediate area, including suppliers and academia.
  • Ability to train others to improve business capability.

Responsibilities

  • Review high level electrical requirements and assess their testability.
  • Analyse and translate requirements into a validated electrical design.
  • Design electrical components to meet requirements and standards.
  • Analyse designs for functional behaviour using modelling and simulation.
  • Support capacity planning and long-term department goals with managers.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines, tools and training.
