Job summary

Babcock International offers a 5-year Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Degree Apprenticeship in Bristol, combining hands-on work on systems powering UK submarines with study for a BEng (Hons) in Electronics or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

You will work in the electrical team, develop through live projects, and contribute to feasibility studies, design changes, and equipment databases while targeting professional registration upon completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher with English and Maths at B/6 or higher.
• 3 A Levels (Maths + two STEM subjects) or equivalent (T Level/Level 3).
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Genuine interest and passion for building a career as an Electrical Engineer.
• Experience producing drawings with CAD is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Producing electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, schedules, and reports.
• Creating technical documentation to support design and engineering of solutions.
• Surveying submarines during dockyard maintenance periods.
• Using CAD tools to assist with design changes and 3D models.
• Receiving training in Electrical Safety and BS7671 (IET Regulations).
