Job summary

Cosworth in Northampton is seeking Sub-Assembly Technicians for the Engine Build department to contribute to iconic projects such as Aston Martin Valkyrie and Red Bull RB17. You will build and rebuild high-performance engine assemblies, dismantling, measuring and assembling components.

You will work as part of a tight-knit team, recording build data, reporting faults, and adhering to H&S and data protection standards. Flexibility for overtime and unsocial hours may be required to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• GCSEs and/or A-levels are acceptable.
• College qualification in engineering level 2-3 preferable.
• Strong teamwork and communication required.
• Manual dexterity and careful measurement skills.
• Willing to work unsocial hours; overtime during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Build engine sub-assemblies and inspect components.
• Strip engine sub-assemblies and measure critical parts.
• Test subcomponents on rigs and collect data.
• Record and maintain build data in the engine database.
• Report faults and ensure records are up to date.
• Follow H&S guidelines and GDPR/company policy.
• Support compliance with UK GDPR and data protection.

The Role

• Build of engine sub-assemblies – inspection and measurement of critical components as defined in Cosworth build manuals and processes.
• Strip engine sub-assemblies – inspection and measurement of critical components as defined in Cosworth build manuals and processes.
• Test subcomponents of engine assembly’s on rigs and collect data.
• Record and maintain all build data and keep records up to date.
• Report faults and record information in the main engine database.
• Adhere to H&S practices and be accepting of other duties and activities that may be reasonably required to achieve company and departmental targets.
• Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
• Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.
