Job summary

Urban Connect is seeking a Supervisor / Sub Agent to join a leading Tier One contractor delivering major water sector projects in Manchester and surrounding areas. The role is hands-on, site-based, requiring proactive leadership to drive works forward, coordinate subcontractors and ensure safety and quality on site.

The ideal candidate will have strong civils/infrastructure experience, excellent subcontractor management skills, and a capable, independent approach to on-site delivery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Supervisor or Sub Agent on major civils/infrastructure projects.
• Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills.
• Ability to push the programme and work independently on site.
• Good understanding of RAMS, site paperwork and construction processes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with Tier One contractors or major infrastructure projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site activities.
• Proactively drive the programme and ensure works remain on schedule.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring productivity and quality.
• Liaise with Site Managers, Project Managers and the wider delivery team.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with RAMS, specifications and project requirements.
• Complete and maintain relevant site paperwork and records.
• Identify issues early and take a proactive approach to resolving them.
• Monitor progress, productivity and quality of works.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are maintained at all times.
• Support the wider project team with planning, sequencing and delivery.

Rate: £300-£340 per day CIS

We are currently recruiting for a Supervisor / Sub Agent to join a leading Tier One contractor delivering major projects across the water sector.

This is a hands-on site-based role for someone who is proactive, commercially aware and capable of driving works forward. You'll be expected to take ownership on site, push the programme, coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong background in water, utilities, civils or infrastructure, who is comfortable taking responsibility and making things happen on site.

• Previous experience as a Supervisor, Sub Agent or similar on major civils/infrastructure projects.
• Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills.
• The confidence and initiative to push the programme and challenge where required.
• Good understanding of site paperwork, RAMS and construction processes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
• Experience working for a Tier One contractor or on major infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.

Desirable qualifications

• Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
• Lifting / Appointed Person or relevant lifting qualifications
• Relevant CSCS / SMSTS or equivalent site management qualifications.
