A major Tier 1 contractor is delivering a significant water infrastructure programme in the Bishops Stortford area and needs an experienced Site Agent to take on a key role within an established delivery team. The framework is long-term, the pipeline is healthy, and the organisation behind it is one of the most active in the water sector right now. If you have the right background and you are looking for a contract with substance, this deserves a serious look.
You will manage daily site operations across water infrastructure schemes, coordinating subcontractors, supervising site teams, reviewing RAMS and method statements, issuing permits, and keeping programme and quality on track. You will report into the Project Manager and take genuine ownership of your section of the works, acting as the consistent, reliable presence on site that holds everything together.
You will manage site-level NEC contract documentation, maintain accurate daily records, and liaise with client representatives in a professional and proactive manner.
Proven Site Agent or Sub Agent experience on civil engineering or water infrastructure schemes. NEC contract familiarity at a working level. Strong subcontractor management skills. Water sector background is a clear advantage. SMSTS, CSCS Black or Gold Card, First Aid at Work, and EUSR Water Hygiene all required.
Up to £400 per day, outside IR35 subject to determination. Initial 12-month contract with strong extension potential on a programme with a long delivery horizon. Bishops Stortford is accessible via road and rail from across Hertfordshire, Essex, North London, and into Cambridgeshire.
