Job summary

Urban Connect in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Site Agent to deliver on-site civil works in the water sector across South and West Yorkshire. The role focuses on safe, on-program execution, quality standards and effective site leadership.

You will manage day-to-day site operations, supervise subcontractors, monitor progress, ensure RAMS compliance, and maintain accurate site documentation. The freelance/ongoing contract offers a daily rate of £350–£425 CIS depending on experience,

Qualifications

• Previous water/utilities sector experience.
• Proven track record delivering civil/water projects.
• Strong site management and subcontractor coordination skills.
• Solid health & safety and quality awareness.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications and RAMS.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant site management tickets, ideally SMSTS.
• CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations and supervise site teams and subcontractors.
• Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with RAMS and procedures.
• Monitor programme, progress and productivity.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Maintain high standards of quality and environmental compliance.
• Liaise with Project Manager, client and project team.
• Complete site documentation, inspections and reporting.
• Identify and resolve issues to keep works on programme.

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to join a leading regional contractor delivering a programme of works across South and West Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Agent with a strong background in the water/utilities sector looking for ongoing freelance work, with the potential for a long-term pipeline of projects.

The Role

As Site Agent, you'll be responsible for the successful day-to-day delivery of works on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day site operations and supervising site teams and subcontractors
• Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with RAMS and company procedures
• Monitoring programme, progress and productivity
• Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
• Maintaining high standards of quality and environmental compliance
• Liaising with the Project Manager, client and wider project team
• Completing site documentation, inspections and reporting
• Identifying and resolving issues proactively to keep works on programme

About You

• Previous experience working within the water/utilities sector
• A proven track record delivering civil engineering or water-related projects
• Strong site management and subcontractor coordination skills
• Excellent understanding of health & safety and quality requirements
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and RAMS
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Relevant site management qualifications/tickets, ideally including SMSTS
• A valid CSCS card
