Job summary

Urban Connect is recruiting a Supervisor / Sub Agent for a hands-on, site-based role in the Manchester area. You will own on-site delivery, drive the programme, coordinate subcontractors and ensure works meet RAMS, specifications and safety standards on a major water sector project.

The role suits someone with strong civils/infrastructure experience, confident taking responsibility and pushing progress on site with a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Experience as Supervisor/Sub Agent on major civils/infrastructure projects.
• Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills.
• Proactive in driving programme and challenging where required.
• Good understanding of RAMS, site paperwork and construction processes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently on site.
• Experience with Tier One contractors or major infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) and lifting qualifications are desirable.
• CSCS/SMSTS or equivalent site management qualifications desirable.

Supervisor / Sub Agent - Water Sector

Location: Manchester & surrounding areas

Rate: £300-£340 per day CIS

Contract: Long-term opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Supervisor / Sub Agent to join a leading Tier One contractor delivering major projects across the water sector.

This is a hands-on site-based role for someone who is proactive, commercially aware and capable of driving works forward. You'll be expected to take ownership on site, push the programme, coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

The Role

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site activities.
• Proactively drive the programme and ensure works remain on schedule.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring productivity and quality.
• Liaise with Site Managers, Project Managers and the wider delivery team.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with RAMS, specifications and project requirements.
• Complete and maintain relevant site paperwork and records.
• Identify issues early and take a proactive approach to resolving them.
• Monitor progress, productivity and quality of works.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are maintained at all times.
• Support the wider project team with planning, sequencing and delivery.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong background in water, utilities, civils or infrastructure, who is comfortable taking responsibility and making things happen on site.

• Previous experience as a Supervisor, Sub Agent or similar on major civils/infrastructure projects.
• Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills.
• The confidence and initiative to push the programme and challenge where required.
• Good understanding of site paperwork, RAMS and construction processes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
• Experience working for a Tier One contractor or on major infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.

Desirable qualifications

• Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
• Lifting / Appointed Person or relevant lifting qualifications
• Relevant CSCS / SMSTS or equivalent site management qualifications.
