Job summary

Jackson Civil Engineering is seeking a Sub Agent for the Southern Region (Hampshire/Berkshire/Surrey). You will support the Site Agent/Project Manager on civil highway and river works, leading site teams, managing sub-contractors and programmes to ensure safe, profitable delivery.

You must hold an industry qualification, NEC contract experience and a valid SMSTS, with willingness to travel the region and a full UK driving licence. Excellent benefits and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sub Agent or Site Agent in civil engineering projects.
• Strong ability to manage site teams and sub-contractors.
• Experience with NEC forms of contract is essential.
• SMSTS or equivalent qualification is required.
• Willingness to travel across the Southern Region and hold a UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Agent or Project Manager in executing duties and managing smaller contracts.
• Manage site staff, operatives and sub-contractors.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments and project management plans.
• Monitor tender allowances and contract costs against budgets.
• Prepare and monitor programmes of work.
• Engage sub-contractors and manage contracts to ensure timely delivery.
• Inform, consult and involve local groups; maintain client relations.
