Job summary

Morson Group is supporting a client’s Western Team with a Site/Agent or Senior Agent role delivering highways works around the Bristol region. The successful candidate will lead site activities, ensuring safety, programme and budget adherence, and will report to the Contracts Manager.

You will coordinate CPPs/CEMPs/consents, manage day-to-day site operations from June 2026, and work closely with local authorities and stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain progress.

Qualifications

• SMSTS certification is essential.
• Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience as Sub Agent, Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in civil engineering contracting.
• Strong understanding of CDM requirements and pre-construction documentation.
• Experience preparing CPPs, CEMPs, and/or consents applications.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highway works safely, to programme, and within budget.
• Lead day-to-day site management once works commence.
• Collaborate with site teams and commercial colleagues for cost control.
• Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide progress reports to the Contracts Manager.
• Build professional relationships with Local Authority and stakeholders.

Due to the awarding of new works, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site/Agent or Senior Agent to join our clients Western Team, leading the delivery of a package of highways works around the Bristol region.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all works are delivered in full compliance with: Applicable legislation
• Contract Terms and Conditions
• Contract Health & Safety Plans
• Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
• Quality and Environmental PlansDeliver projects safely, to programme, and within budget
• Support pre?construction development including drafting:
• Construction Phase Plans (CPP)
• Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP)
• Consents and permits applications
• Lead day?to?day site management once works commence (June 2026)
• Work collaboratively with site teams and commercial colleagues to ensure effective cost control
• Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions where needed
• Ensure changes to the contract are identified, communicated, and managed appropriately
• Provide clear and timely progress reports to the Contracts Manager
• Build positive, professional relationships with the Local Authority client and stakeholders

Requirements

Essential:

• SMSTS
• Degree / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent technical experience)
• Experience as a Sub Agent, Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in a civil engineering contracting environment
• Strong understanding of CDM requirements and pre?construction documentation
• Experience preparing CPPs, CEMPs, and/or consents applications
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Previous experience in highways or Local Authority infrastructure schemes
• Experience managing multiple concurrent sites
