Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Sub-Agent to support delivery of major civil engineering projects across Scotland. The role involves assisting the Site Agent, supervising site teams and subcontractors, and coordinating construction activities on important infrastructure works such as earthworks and foundations.

You will ensure safety compliance, monitor progress and quality, and work with engineering, commercial, planning and HSEQ teams to meet design and specification requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and project delivery.
• Understanding of health, safety and quality requirements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant engineering or construction qualifications.
• Willingness to work across Scotland as project requirements dictate.
• Experience in energy, utilities, substations or major civils projects is advantageous.

Location: Scotland – Nationwide/Regional Travel

A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced Sub-Agent to join a major programme of substation and associated civil engineering works across Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects involving earthworks, concrete, drainage, access roads, foundations and associated substation civils.

The Role

As Sub-Agent, you will support the Site Agent and wider project team in the safe and efficient delivery of civil engineering works on site.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Site Agent with day-to-day site operations.
• Supervising site teams, engineers and subcontractors.
• Planning and coordinating construction activities.
• Monitoring progress, quality and productivity.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with RAMS.
• Managing subcontractor activities and site interfaces.
• Working closely with engineering, commercial, planning and HSEQ teams.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design and specification.

• Supporting the Site Agent with the successful delivery of the project.

About You

They are looking for an experienced Sub-Agent, Site Agent or Senior Engineer with a strong civil engineering background.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience working on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and project delivery.
• A good understanding of health, safety and quality requirements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant engineering or construction qualifications.
• A willingness and ability to work across Scotland as project requirements dictate.Experience within energy, utilities, power, substations or other major infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other major civils backgrounds will also be considered.
