Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, invites applications for a Sub Agent on the Sturry Link Road project in Canterbury. You will manage sections of the works, ensure safety, programme and budget compliance, and supervise engineers and subcontractors on site.

Based on-site and reporting to a Site Agent, you will contribute to delivering civil engineering works including roads and bridges, with a focus on practical leadership, quality assurance and collaboration with the project team.

Qualifications

• MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC/ Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of varied site experience in Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge and understanding of construction management.
• Business Awareness.
• Team Leader.
• Effective use of Initiative.

Responsibilities

Job description

We build, renew, maintain highways, airports, railway infrastructure, and commercial, industrial and educational buildings.

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Sub Agent to play an integral part in delivering our project at Sturry Link Road in Canterbury.

The project will consist of a 550-metre-long road and a 250-metre viaduct to be built over the Great Stour River and the railway line from Canterbury to Ramsgate.

As the Sub Agent, you will be responsible for managing sections of the works, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. You will oversee site operations and supervise engineers and subcontractors under your control, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with project requirements. The role will be based on-site and will report to a Site Agent.

About you

• MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC/ Degree in Civil Engineering.
