Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a Sub Agent to join a Tier 1 Civil Engineering team. The role begins in preconstruction documentation at the Rail Offices in Basingstoke, with mobilisation to a Westminster project for a 10-month programme.

From January 2027, the candidate will be onsite at Westminster. The project includes CP7 for two more years and CP8 for five years, offering long-term opportunities within the SRE.

Qualifications

• Experience of civil engineering projects.
• Experience of working on rail sector projects.
• PTS, CSCS and SMSTS required.
• A degree or equivalent in a construction related discipline.
• Proven technical and site management abilities in the Built environment.
• Strong organisational and management skills.
• Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations.
• Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and implement safe systems of work.
• Detailed knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues relevant to the project environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager to ensure successful delivery of the project.
• Work closely with a dedicated site team and Works Manager.
• Manage health, safety, environmental & quality compliance as well as programme and budget requirements.

Job description

My client is a Leading, Tier 1 Construction Company.

They have a fantastic opportunity for a Sub Agent to join their Civil Engineering business working initially in preconstruction documentation out of their Rail Offices in Basingstoke before mobilising to a project in Westminster.

From January 2027, the successful candidate will be based onsite at Westminster which has a 10month programme. There is 2 more years of CP7 and 5 years of CP8 to deliver so there is scope to remain with the SRE longer for the foreseeable future.

In support of the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the project, and have responsibility to ensure health, safety, environmental & quality compliance as well as programme and budget requirements.

You will be closely supported by a dedicated site team and a very experienced Works Manager.

Due to the nature of this project, the successful individual will be required to work a mixture of day and night shifts with the latter attracting a sizeable rate uplift.

This is a long-term contract opportunity with an estimated duration of 9-12 months.
