Job summary

GEDU Global Education is seeking a Study Skills Lecturer to join our growing team in Leeds. You will design and deliver sessions that build academic skills, provide feedback, and help students succeed across English, numeracy, writing, and research.

You will teach during weekdays, evenings, and weekends, contribute to programme design, and engage in outreach and partner activities. A PhD or Delta/CELTA enhances candidacy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant subject required; PhD desirable.
• Experience teaching in UK higher education in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in widening access environments.
• Experience supervising student work and providing feedback.
• Willingness to lead a literacy development area (reading, writing, numeracy, etc.).
• High digital literacy and strong communication.
• Attention to detail and organised student records.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to help students develop academic skills.
• Design assessments and assess student work, ensuring that learning outcomes are met.
• Provide meaningful feedback and academic guidance, considering each student's needs.
• Contribute to design, development, delivery, review, and enhancement of programmes of study.
• Participate in internal and external events, such as programme reviews and open days.
• Keep up to date with best practice in learning and technologies that enhance the learning experience.
• Support and disseminate new knowledge in your field of study and/or higher education practice.
