Job summary

GBS is seeking Study Skills Lecturers to join our Academic team in Leeds on-site. You will design, plan and deliver sessions that build English, numeracy, academic writing and referencing, and digital skills to help students succeed. You will assess work, provide constructive feedback, and support programme development across the Faculty.

Flexibility to teach weekdays, evenings and weekends is required; visa sponsorship is not available. A Master's degree is essential; a PhD is desirable.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable).
• Experience teaching in UK higher education.
• Experience widening access environments.
• Ability to design, deliver and assess academic skills sessions.
• Strong digital literacy and communication skills.
• Experience leading literacy development areas such as reading, writing or numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to build academic skills.
• Design assessments and assess student work ensuring learning outcomes are met.
• Provide feedback and academic guidance tailored to individual needs.
• Contribute to programme design, development, delivery, review and enhancement.
• Participate in internal and external events such as programme reviews and partner visits.
• Stay up to date with best practice in learning and teaching and relevant technologies.
• Support dissemination of new knowledge in your field and higher education practice.
