Job summary

GEDU in Manchester is seeking Study Skills Lecturers to help students develop academic skills such as English language, numeracy, academic writing and referencing, and digital skills. The role requires flexibility to teach weekdays, evenings and weekends; visa sponsorship is not available.

You will design and deliver sessions, assess student work, provide feedback, and contribute to programme development within the Faculty and across GBS, while engaging in events and staying current with best

Qualifications

• Master's degree in relevant subject area (PhD desirable).
• Experience of teaching in UK higher education in a relevant discipline.
• Experience of widening access environments.
• Experience supervising student work and providing feedback.
• Willingness to lead a specific area of literacy development (reading, writing, numeracy, digital skills, research skills, etc.).
• High level of digital literacy and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, accurate reporting and organised student records.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to help students develop and sharpen their academic skills.
• Design assessments and assess student work, ensuring learning outcomes are met.
• Provide meaningful feedback and academic guidance, considering each student's needs.
• Contribute to design, development, delivery, review and enhancement of programmes of study.
• Participate in internal and external events (programme reviews, open days, outreach, partner visits).
• Keep up to date with best practice in learning and teaching and technologies.
