Job summary

GEDU Global Education is seeking a Study Skills Lecturer for our Birmingham on-site operations. You will design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to help students develop and sharpen their academic skills and assess student work, ensuring learning outcomes are met.

You will provide meaningful feedback and guide students while collaborating on programme design, development and enhancement across faculties and partners. A Master's degree and UK HE teaching experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in relevant subject area (PhD desirable).
• Experience of teaching in UK higher education in a relevant discipline.
• Experience of widening access environments.
• Experience of supervising student work and providing feedback.
• Willingness to lead a specific area of literacy development, such as reading, writing, critical thinking, numeracy, digital skills, research skills (quantitative or qualitative), project and dissertation support or peer-assisted learning.
• A high level of digital literacy and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to help students develop and sharpen their academic skills.
• Design assessments and assess student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met.
• Provide meaningful feedback and academic guidance, considering each student's needs.
• Contribute to the design, development, delivery, review, and enhancement of programmes of study within the Faculty and across GBS.
• Participate in internal and external events, such as programme reviews, open days, outreach activities, and partner visits.
• Keep up to date with best practice in learning and teaching and technologies that enhance the learning experience.
• Support and engage in the creation, application, and/or dissemination of new knowledge in your field of study and/or in higher education practice.
