Job summary

GBS in London is seeking Study Skills Lecturers to empower students by developing English language, numeracy, academic writing and referencing, and digital skills across programmes.

The role requires delivering sessions during weekdays, evenings and weekends, with on-site work at Greenford or Stratford. A Masters in a relevant subject is required, and a PhD is desirable. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant subject (PhD desirable).
• Experience teaching in UK higher education.
• Experience working in widening access environments.
• Experience supervising student work and providing feedback.
• Willingness to lead a specific area of literacy development (reading/writing/numeracy/digital skills).
• High level of digital literacy and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, reporting accuracy and organized student records.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to develop academic skills.
• Design assessments and mark work to ensure learning outcomes are met.
• Provide feedback and academic guidance tailored to each student.
• Contribute to design, development, delivery and review of programmes across GBS.
• Participate in events such as programme reviews, open days and partner visits.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in learning and teaching and related technologies.
• Support creation and dissemination of new knowledge in your field or HE pedagogy.
