Job description

Studio Assistant / Manager & Events Coordinator Role

We’re currently looking for someone to join us 1 – 2 days a week as aStudio Assistant / Manager & Events Coordinator, and I’ve attached the job description below for reference. The role could potentially increase to 3 – 4 days a week after Christmas, with the possibility of becoming a more full time position as the studio grows.

Battersea Park Studios is looking for an experienced, proactive and hands‑on individual to support the day to day running of our photography studio and help grow our client base and events business.

We are looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in, get their hands dirty and take initiative, from general studio upkeep and shoot preparation to client communication, business research and events management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Studio Operations & Administration: Support the Studio Manager with bookings, emails, client enquiries, calendar management and general administration.
  • Studio Upkeep: Maintain a clean, tidy and organised studio, prepare spaces for clients and shoots, carry out general checks, monitor supplies and report maintenance requirements.
  • Photography & Shoot Support: Assist with shoot set‑up and breakdown, support clients with studio requirements and handle photography equipment where appropriately experienced.
  • Research & Business Development: Research potential clients, brands, agencies, photographers, production companies and local creative businesses. Identify new opportunities and help generate studio hire and photography bookings.
  • Events Management: Research and source potential event clients, assist with planning and coordination, liaise with clients and suppliers, support event set‑up and delivery, and help return the studio to its normal condition afterwards.
  • General Support: Act as a practical, reliable support to the Studio Manager, identifying tasks that need attention and helping wherever required.
  • One day per week, most likely Wednesday or Thursday till Christmas. We then have 3 – 4 days for a more full time roll in the new year.
  • Additional shifts and hours available depending on studio bookings, photography shoots, events and business requirements.
  • Flexibility with working days and dates is essential, as the schedule will vary according to the studio’s workload.

Event Commission: 10% commission on agreed revenue from events you directly bring into or secure for Battersea Park Studios.

Skills and Experience Required
  • A working knowledge of photography equipment, studio operations and the creative industry.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients, suppliers and potential new business contacts.
  • Good research skills, commercial awareness and an interest in business development.
  • Experience or knowledge of event planning and coordination.
  • A proactive, practical attitude, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Excellent organisation, reliability, attention to detail and a willingness to get involved in hands‑on tasks.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their race, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion and belief, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity and caring responsibility.
