Job summary

Stanmore College is hiring a Student Adviser and Safeguarding Officer to support learners throughout their college journey, providing guidance, early intervention, and safeguarding support that helps them overcome challenges and thrive.

You will build trusted relationships with students, parents/carers, curriculum staff, and external agencies, maintain accurate safeguarding records, and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement to create a safe, inclusive environment where every learner

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, guidance, and pastoral support to students, helping them overcome personal, social, and academic barriers.
• Act as a Safeguarding Officer, responding to safeguarding concerns and working with colleagues and external agencies to support vulnerable learners.
• Support students through key transition points and develop tailored support plans where additional intervention is required.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, curriculum staff, and external professionals to promote student wellbeing and success.
• Maintain accurate safeguarding records and contribute to reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive college environment where students feel safe, respected, and able to achieve their full potential.
• Act as a Safeguarding Officer, responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns and supporting a safe and inclusive College environment.
