Job summary

Philosophy Education LTD. in Rochester is seeking a confident Pastoral Officer to support students' behaviour, attendance and wellbeing within a busy secondary school.

This temporary, full-time role starts ASAP. You will respond to pastoral calls, work closely with teaching and senior staff, record incidents on the school's systems and help students return to lessons, while building positive relations with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous school-based pastoral, behaviour or student support experience is highly desirable.
• Confident managing challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable using school systems and recording information accurately.
• Available to start ASAP.
• You MUST have an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Responding to pastoral and behaviour calls across the school.
• Supporting students with behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.
• Dealing confidently with challenging situations.
• Working closely with teaching, pastoral and senior staff.
• Recording incidents and updates accurately on the school's systems.
• Supporting students to successfully return to lessons.
• Building positive and professional relationships with students.
• Providing general pastoral and administrative support where required.
