Job summary

Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form is seeking an outstanding Pastoral Manager to join our committed pastoral team. You will ensure high standards of student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and engagement, working with Raising Standards Leaders to keep students safe and supported to succeed.

We offer CPD including safeguarding Level 3, a supportive team, and opportunities to make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives within a Trust that prioritises staff development.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral or youth work, particularly in an educational setting.
• Strong emotional intelligence and professional confidence with vulnerable students.
• Ability to lead structured interventions around behaviour and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visible, approachable presence promoting high standards of behaviour.
• Build and maintain supportive relationships with students and families.
• Monitor attendance and conduct regular home visits and first-day calls.
• Deliver or coordinate targeted interventions for emotional and behavioural needs.
• Collaborate with external agencies and lead multi-agency meetings.
