Job summary

West Dean’s Bloomsbury campus in London seeks a Student Welcome Officer to join the Campus Services team. You will be the first point of contact for students, tutors and visitors, ensuring a warm, welcoming and professional environment.

This role combines front-of-house duties with administration, handling enquiries, maintaining records, processing payments and supporting health and safety procedures. Excellent customer service and calm under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service and administrative experience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to stay calm in a busy environment and protect data.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, professional welcome to students, tutors, visitors, delegates and guests.
• Manage front-of-house enquiries in person, by telephone and email, providing accurate information and assistance.
• Respond positively and professionally to customer queries and concerns, escalating issues where appropriate.
• Undertake day-to-day administration, including maintaining records, correspondence and campus information.
• Support the smooth running and presentation of student and communal areas.
• Process payments and support retail facilities in line with established procedures.
• Maintain customer records in accordance with GDPR and organisational procedures.
