Job summary

Derby Union of Students is seeking a Union Advisor (maternity cover) to provide free, confidential student advice across academic appeals, complaints, housing and finances. The role involves supporting casework and promoting the Union Advice service while contributing to strategic projects across the University.

You will work from Kedleston Road with travel to other sites in Derby, Buxton and Chesterfield, starting salary £19,285.71 per annum FTE £27,000 pro rata.

Responsibilities

• Carry out impartial, confidential casework for students via face-to-face, phone, email or Teams.
• Provide specialist advice on academic, welfare, debt and housing issues.
• Represent students in university meetings and advocate on their behalf.
• Liaise with university staff and external services to support students.
• Maintain case records, use Advice Pro, and monitor data for reporting.
