As a highly focused professional service directorate we make a significant impact on the University's ability to achieve its ambition of offering an outstanding and valuable experience, and to support our colleagues in achieving excellence in research, teaching and the student experience. We provide a collection of professional services which contribute to the quality of the student and staff experience.

Role

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our Student Systems team. The team is responsible for the configuration, development, management and maintenance of our student record system (SITS) and its integrations with other business systems. This role is key to successful delivery of that programme.

Key responsibilities include working directly with business stakeholders, service owners, end users and development teams (in Student Systems and Digital Services) to:

  • Elicit and constructively challenge requirements
  • Analyse process and data flows
  • Develop solution options
  • Translate business needs into a clear framework for technical delivery

You will be personally responsible for:

  • Leading requirements elicitation and solution validation activities
  • Supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) and service transition
  • Guiding stakeholders through prioritisation challenges, and managing project risks effectively
  • Providing oversight and control of any work assigned to external suppliers or consultants

You will thrive in this role if you are:

  • Highly self-motivated
  • Capable of managing your own work and leading others
  • A confident and approachable communicator with the ability to build warm rapport with a broad cross section of business and technical stakeholders at all levels of the University.
